Carnaval of Thassos
has its roots at the Dionisiaka which was taking place in 2.500
years ago. Thassians kept this tradition through the ages and still
celebrate carnaval in a similar way as they did in the antique. Therefor
Satira is a major part of the thassian carnaval .
Tha carnaval takes place at Panagia, Kallirachi, Rachoni, Limenaria and
Potamia and tourists of main land are visiting Thassos just for the
carnaval.
